Mrs. Christina Olvera's Letter

Dear First Grade Families,
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year. This is my 17th year at Carlton Avenue and my 20th year over all. I’ve taught first, second and third grades, but my heart belongs in first grade!
First grade is a year filled with many new experiences and opportunities to grow. Together we will read, write, count, add, subtract, measure, plant, build, pour, run, sing, dance, create, laugh and much, much more!
Homework this week is simple, please read each night with your child. We will begin regular homework in two weeks.
Please plan to attend Back to School Night next Wednesday, August 26th at 6:00 in our classroom. I will share lots of important information about our school year as well as outline opportunities to volunteer in the classroom!
This is going to be an amazing school year! I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you over the next few weeks. I am very excited to be your child’s teacher. Together we are going to make a huge difference in the lives of these little people.
